Pediatric Social Work Supervisor position open at OHSU Doernbecher Children Hospital

As a member of the Care Management Social Work team, the supervisor provides strategic leadership and direction for the Pediatric Social Work Programs. S/he/They keeps abreast of trends in pediatric health care including: psychosocial theories and practice frameworks to understand the impact of illness, clinical interventions to encourage and strengthen health coping and adjustment, resources to enhance patient and family well-being, transition care considerations from pediatric to adult medicine , patient and family-family centered practices, end of life and pallative care considerations, psycheducational support and mentoring models, interdisciplinary teamwork, care coordination, child maltreatment, and trauma-informed care. The supervisor provides direct supervision to all pediatric social workers in the Care Management Department.S/he/They must hold competency across clinical areas (ED, inpatient, ambulatory, pediatrics and adults) in order to respond to the diverse needs of the organization. S/he/They is responsible for recruitment, hiring, retention orientation, scheduling, and professional development of all pediatric social workers. The supervisor participates in on-call responsibilities. The supervisor also provides ongoing direct care for patients served as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters of Social Work

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Oregon

  • Approved Oregon Board of Social Work to provide clinical supervision

  • A minimum of 5 years as a professional social worker with progressive leadership responsibilities

  • Expertise in delivery of pediatric social work in healthcare setting

  • Proficient in trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing
  • Proficient in community relationship-building and networking

  • Proficient in clinical supervision. Proficient in performance management

  • Must be able to eligible to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
